Anode coke: Market eyes China for price moves

Increased aluminium production in China and falling prices for the metal could shape fourth-quarter negotiations as buyers and sellers begin talks for that term. The growing output in China threatens to reverse the rest of the world’s shift into a supply deficit, and a weakened economic outlook in Europe and rising US dollar are pressuring the London Metal Exchange (LME) price lower. The LME threemonth price reached a high point in September at $2,118/t, but has declined steadily to $1,916/t today.
