The South Australian Government says it faces a potential 140 million dollars liability as a result of plans for an NRG subsidiary Flinders Osborne Trading Pty Ltd to go into liquidation. Treasurer Kevin Foley said the state liability stems from a 1996 privatisation arrangement under which the former Liberal government gave a guarantee in relation to the price of the gas and the electricity supplied to and from the loss-making 180MW Osborne power station at Port Adelaide.
