In the opinion of most observers and participants, the course for the 201 I Open Championship at Royal St George's was prepared and presented to the highest of standards. The Club and particularly its greenkeeping team led by Graham Royden, received many plaudits for their commitment and effort, which followed one of the driest springs in 350 years in this part of Kent.
