During remarks at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Biomass 2013 annual conference on August 1, Secretary Ernest Moniz announced the department has awarded nearly US$16.5 million to four projects in California, Hawaii and New Mexico aimed at breaking down technical barriers and accelerating the development of sustainable, affordable algae-biofuels.
