摘要

In the present investigation freshwater fish, Channa gachua were exposed to lethal and sublethal concentration of dimethoate (96 hours LC_( 50) value) .The results were recorded for acute treatment after 24,48,72 and 96 hours of exposure period. For chronic treatment the results were recorded after 1,7,14,21 and 28 days. Oxygen consumption was found to decrease in both the exposures with increase in exposure time manifesting respiratory distress of the animal in toxic environment.
