THE CHANGES IN POLISH FOREIGN TRADE AND EXCHANGE RATE DURING THE TRANSFORMATION

The reforms on foreign trade in Poland were significant. They were handled in a smooth way in relatively short time. One must notice such change since till 1990 it was central controlled foreign trade. But after this time anybody could start such an activity. Polish currency was changed as well. Inflation and no need for hard local currency made the step into demanding other money like USD or DEM. They were very popular in so called black market. But thanks to the reforms right now PLN is inside convertible and it is trusted unit among domestic companies.
