State-owned China National Offshore Oil Corp Ltd (CNOOC Ltd) has made two new oil and gas discoveries in the Bohai Bay offshore northeast China. The Bozhong 2-1 (BZ 2-1) find is located in the west of the Bozhong Sag around 6km southeast of the BZ 3-2 oil field. The discovery well BZ 2-1-2 penetrated oil pay zones with a total thickness of 167ft (51m). The well drilled to a total depth of 12,829ft (3,910m) at a water depth of 85ft (26m). The well was tested to flow at an average rate of 1,270 b/d of oil and 393 Mcf/d (11.1 Mcm/d) of natural gas via an 11.91mm choke.
