The emergence of full-wave interpretation - The oil and gas industry is poised at the beginning of the full-wave seismic revolution

Look on the exploration and production (E&P) "electronic bookshelves" and you will find a number of wonderful overviews, how-to books if you will, covering such topics as seismic processing, 3-D seismic interpretation and well log interpretation. Search as you may, however, you will not find the definitive reference for full-wave or multicomponent seismic interpretation. In a sense, this knowledge reference is in the process of being written by the pioneers of this emerging interpretation discipline. Interpreters globally are beginning to experience the challenges and benefits of combining new "mode-converted" seismic data with traditional seismic measurements in full-wave interpretation projects.
