New Vessel can Simultaneously Drill and Produce

A multipurpose floater is a heavy-duty, deepwater drillship that can also perform extended well testing or production operations while simultaneously drilling an additional well. The multipurpose floater (MPF) is a large tanker hull designed to be out-fitted as a deepwater drilling unit with production capability; a pure deep-water floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO); or an FPSO with well intervention equipment. The MPF-1000 has one million barrels of oil storage capacity and is equipped with two moonpools. A larger version, MPF-2000, could accommodate two million barrels of storage capacity for larger projects.
