FROM THE PRESIDENT'S OFFICE

I consider it a great honour to have been inaugurated as the 89th President of our Association. I have actively been involved with our organisation from when I first joined the then IAAS in 1990, serving at branch level at Beds and Herts, then as Chairman of the Young Members Committee and finally as an elected member of the ABE Council, which was later called the 'Board'. I take over from Stan Barker-McGuire, who during his presidency oversaw the greatest achievement by this Association - being granted 'Chartered' status. What an achievement that was for the Association and its members. How can one follow that? Well, it's a hard act to follow and beat, so I can only focus on building on Stan's legacy and following the Association's 'Vision' of 'Developing Professionals, Sharing Knowledge and Raising Standards'.
