The National Heat Pump Awards 2011 have received strong backing and endorsement from all sides of the industry. Launched to reward and celebrate the best products, projects and professionals across the expanding heat pumps sector, the aims of the Awards have been echoed by industry leaders and organisations across the sector. Launched in May, the new annual awards provide a national showcase for the latest developments in this vital and rapidly developing area of sustainable technology. Heat pumps capture free energy from the environment - from the air, ground or water-and harness it to provide low-cost, low-carbon heating for homes, commercial premises and industry. Heat pumps are many more times more efficient than conventional gas or electric appliances, dramatically cutting running costs and safeguarding the environment.
