PC shipments highlight market upheaval

Whether due to component shortages from disaster-ravaged Southeast Asian manufacturers, or simply more evidence we're entering a "Post-PC" era, the latest personal computer shipment numbers show a rare decline at the end of 2011.According to market research firm Gartner, U.S. shipments of new PCs declined 1.4 percent year-over-year in the fourth quarter of 2011, to 92.2 million units.
