Measured data acquisition and archiving at Voest-Alpine's hot strip mill

A master archival database has been established that receives information from individual sources throughout a hot strip mill operation. The system is used for a wide range of purposes such as product and process evaluation, maintenance and fault rectification, and can be accessed by all relevant departments within the steel plant.
