THE FALLING New Zealand dollar was the major factor affecting overseas log returns in the month ending 20th July. The NZ 4 dollar per jas metre improvement was also helped by a minimal rise in costs including freight prices and a slight reduction in sea freight costs. Exporters have increased their wharfgate prices by NZ 2 dollar to NZ 5 dollar depending on destination and port being shipped from, with ports further south having the lowest increases.
