Brushed dies reduce sheet marking

Wilson Tool is promoting a range of dies to suit machines using Trumpf style tooling, specifically designed to reduce sheet marking. Each die has one or more tough nylon brushes built into it to allow the sheet to ride smoothly over the die so that sheet marking is kept to a minimum. The brushes can be shimmed as they wear and can eventually be replaced. "An additional advantage to using these new brushed dies is that the vacuum can be left on to avoid costly slug pulling problems, even when punching extremely thin materials," Wilson told ISMR.
