FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION--CONSTRUCT FIRE SAFETY

The Joint Code of Practice, Fire Prevention of Construction Sites, jointly published by the FPA and the Construction Confederation, has been credited with assisting in significantly reducing fires and subsequent losses since its introduction in 1992. The 7th edition of the Code has recently been published and has been amended to address recent changes in legislation and tackle other emerging and existing risks such as high rise buildings and timber frame construction. The Fire Protection Association provided a one-day seminar entitled 'Construct Fire Safety'to provide an insight into managing modern construction on site and the recommendations of the 7th edition of the Joint Code of Practice on the protection from fire of Construction Sites and Buildings undergoing Renovation.
