The Ecuadorian government has in effect nationalized the operations of Anglo-French oil company Perenco. Petroamazonas, an affiliate of state oil company Petroecuador, has taken control of Perenco's oil fields in blocks 7 and 21 in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Petroamazonas chief Wilson Pastor said on Friday his company would run the fields until the government decides what to do.
