Chevron wants to sell a stake in its deepwater Kutei Basin acreage off East Kalimantan in Indonesia to reduce project risk. A spokesman for the US major told International Oil Daily that it is looking at potential partners, and the "process is ongoing and subject to approvals by the government." Chevron holds two concessions off East Kalimantan - the Ganal Block, which is home to the Gehem and Gendalo fields, and the Rapak Block, which holds the Ranggas field. Gas from the blocks is expected to feed the nearby Bontang LNG plant.
