The Medgaz pipeline linking Algeria directly to Spain will hit full speed around June 2010, Medgaz consortium head Pedro Miro said this week. Tests on the 8 Bcm/yr pipeline will start in March. Medgaz backers were originally targeting the end of 2009 for start-up and then early 2010 - the date given by Algerian Energy Minister Chakib Khelil last month (IOD Jun.26,p7).
