Using wheat as an alternative to corn in pig diets

Corn is traditionally the main grain used in pig feeds produced in many parts of the world. What happens though, when prices are high and there are concerns over corn supplies? Having a strategy in place to enable replacement of one feedstuff with another in animal diets is an excellent way to help alleviate risks from inherent market volatility in raw material prices and supply. Replacing some or all of the corn in diets with wheat can present an interesting opportunity in order to help reduce feedcosts and maintain profitability.
