Brussels: $74B Needed in Renewables Research to Meet Goals

Europe must plow an additional ?50 billion ($73.6 billion) into low-carbon energy research over the next 10 years if it wants to meet climate change targets. Failure to do so means the 27-member bloc will have little chance of hitting its legally binding target of sourcing 20% of energy from renewables by 2020, the European Commission says.
