Russian regional oil producer Bashneft saw profits almost triple year-on-year in the first quarter of 2010 as stronger crude prices and the consolidation of energy assets ac- quired from its owner, telecom giant AFK Sistema, boosted revenues but necessitated taking on much greater debt.
