Nymex Crude Dips Below $75 on Firmer Dollar, Economic Outlook

Crude futures drifted lower in thin trading Monday due to a stronger dollar and amid expectations of more negative news about the economy this week. Nymex October crude lost 0.47￠ to settle at $74.70 per barrel while October Brent, trading on the ICE Exchange in London, lost 0.05￠ to $76.60. It was the first loss for crude in the last four sessions. Upside resistance is seen at $75.50, a high hit in late trade on Friday. A relatively low 215,503 contracts changed hands, the result of a holiday in the UK.
