TNK-BP will continue to hike production in the coming years with heftier spending on new upstream projects, although development of existing fields will be in the frame too. According to executive vice president for exploration and production Sergei Brezitsky, crude oil production in 2010 will reach 71.8 million-72 million metric tons (1.442 million- 1.446 million barrels per day), up from 70 million tons (1.406 million b/d) this year. That would represent an increase of 2.6%- 2.8% - lower than the rise of 4%-5% planned by state Rosneft (IOD Dec.17,p8). The TNK-BP numbers exclude 380,000 b/d producer Slavneft, which it owns equally with Gazprom Neft.
