Renewed protests in Thailand could cripple the Southeast Asian country's already lagging economy by scaring away tourist dollars and long-term foreign investment, while reducing demand for petroleum products. More than 70 people were injured in clashes on Monday between security forces and protestors loyal to ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The protesters, socalled red-shirts, have called for the resignation of Prime Minister Abhisit Vajjajiva and new elections.
