Japan's crude oil imports averaged 3.58 million b/d in August, 13.5% down on the same month last year, according to data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Imports from all Mideast countries fell except for deliveries from Oman, which rose 12.7% to 115,000 b/d, and from Iraq, which more than doubled to 63,000 b/d. Volumes from number one supplier Saudi Arabia dipped 2.1% to 994,000 b/d; there were double-digit declines in imports from the UAE, Iran, Kuwait and Indonesia.
