AMCA Annual meeting highlights the President's Malaria Initiative

The American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA) convention and exhibition, held in March at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim California was certainly no "Mickey Mouse" affair. This annual gathering of the US researchers and industry becomes more and more international each year. This year the sound of both Spanish and Mandarin could be heard around the exhibition floor as the conference focused on vector control in Latin America and a significant Chinese delegation visited both the conference and exhibition. The event, especially the exhibition area continues to retain its family feel that seems to be increasingly lost at many larger pest management events as mergers and acquisitions continue to change the company name boards. There is no doubt theconference and poster sessions increase year on year, which demonstrates the value attributed by researchers to sharing their work at this world renown forum.
