Petronet LNG, India's largest LNG importer, is eyeing a stake in the planned 5 million ton/yr west coast Mundra LNG terminal in Kutch in Gujarat state as it seeks to expand its footprint and benefit from a potential uptick in the South Asian nation's demand for the super-chilled fuel (LNGI Dec.13'16). Petronet's finance director R.K. Garg told International Oil Daily the firm was “evaluating” buying an equity stake in Gujarat State Petroleum Corp. (GSPC), which owns the terminal. He did not provide a valuation for the stake, saying it had yet to be decided.
