Dow Chemical lets contract for ethane plant

Dow Chemical Co. has let a contract to a subsidiary of Foster Wheeler's Global Engineering Construction Group for the engineering, procurement, and construction of its LA-3 Crack More Ethane project at its petrochemical plant in Plaquemine Parrish, La. The objective of the project is to improve plant ethane flexibility to take advantage of low-cost feedstock. Scope will include brownfield additions and retrofit modifications to the plant, Dow Chemical said.
