A reliable and energy efficient approach of providing refrigeration needs is a major challenge in most developing countries, particularly sub-Saharan Africa. In this study, a comparative techno-economic assessment of a converted direct current refrigerator and a conventional alternating current refrigerator both powered by solar photovoltaic system has been conducted.
