Pelvic-cutaneous fistula after retropubic vaginal tape placement.

Infectious complications following the tension-free vaginal tape procedure are rare [1-3]. A 70-year-old white woman was admitted to our department with a suprapubic cutaneous fistula associated with fever and a palpable and painful swelling of the pubic region. The patient had undergone hysterectomy 16 months previously and retropubic vaginal tape placement for uterine prolapse and stress urinary incontinence. At 6 months follow-up the patient appeared cured.
