Compliance tensors of ellipsoidal inclusions

Fourth rank H-tensors that determine thecontribution of an inclusion into the overall strain under givenloads were calculated earlier for a number of two- and three-dimensional "empty" cavities of various shapes by Kachanov et al.(1994). Shafiro and Kachanov (1997) found H-tensors forcavities containing compressible fluid. Here, we extend theseresults to the ellipsoidal inclusion having arbitrary elastic constants.
