An inguinal hernia results from a defect in the inguinal ring through which the abdominal contents protrude (Smeak, 2003). This article reports successful repair of an inguinal hernia with pyometra in an intact bitch. One 8 years-old Spitz bitch was presented with the history of progressive unilateral large swelling near the last left mammary gland (fig. 1). The bitch was anorectic for last two days and there were occasional vomition and a yellowish-white secretion from the vagina. On physical examination, the swelling was partially reducible with digital pressure. Deep palpation revealed the presence of hernia ring.
