Pressure Gradient in Transfer Chutes from a flowing Bulk Solid Stream

This paper presents a flow analysis of bulk solids in chutes. Based on the theoretical model a stress analysis is carried out to determine the ratio of lateral to normal pressure on chute walls. Comparison is made between theoretical and the standard pressure gradient, as it is a significant factor of the equivalent friction coefficient in chutes. An application example is presented.
