摘要

Many of today's underground coal mines utilise long trains of belt conveyors to deliver their Run Of Mine coal to the surface. In extreme cases as many as a dozen conveyors are involved in the supply train. To complicate the process, the capacity of these long conveyor systems are often dictated by the peak delivery rate from an underground longwall mining system, which is a particularly discontinuous process. Often the use of an inter-seam bin is debated during the feasibility study, but since the use of bins in underground mines has occasionally proved problematic, their inclusion is often discounted.
