摘要

This paper describes the conditions and steps to design and implement a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) and tuning a fuzzy-based temperature control process. Three types of controllers were implemented: the PI controller, the FLC using triangular membership functions, and the FLC using difference sigmoid membership functions. The first one has been used to control HVAC System in Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) as part of the supplied Building Management System (BMS). A comparison is held between various results of control techniques in terms of rise time, peak time, maximum overshot, settling time, steady-state error and energy consumption to determine the most suitable and energy efficient one.
