摘要

In this paper, first a new optimum nonnegative integer bit allocation (ONIBA) algorithm is proposed for 'transform coding' with lower computational complexity compared to the existing algorithms. The algorithm is extended for the cases in which the variances of some sources are zero. Then, an ONIBA algorithm is developed for wavelet based 'subband coding'. Finally the algorithm is modified for adaptive subband coding. Computer simulations demonstrate considerable superiority of the proposed subband coding algorithm over the existing ones.
