The evaluation method of aerodynamic drag is important to the correct estimation of mileage at the beginning phase of the new-vehicle development when no product vehicles exist Then, to establish the practical evaluation method, the strong and weak points of the scale model, the wind tunnel testing and the CFD analysis are studied and the guideline for the choice of the methods are derived. This paper presents an outline of these works.
