TREATMENT OF NEONATAL DIARRHOEA IN PIGLETS

Neonatal diarrhoea is one of the most important causes of piglet mortality, and even 25% of the neonatal deaths have been recorded in well managed herd (Einsmiager and Parker, 1984, Taylor, 1986). The diarrhoea remained largely uncontr tiled because of its complex etiology viz., infectious, immunological, nutritional and environmental. Number of antimicrobial agents were used from time to time with inconsistant results due to drug resistance of the organisms (Tzipori et al., 1930; Lsman et al., 1935). The paper deals with the clinicotherapeutic management of diarrhoeic piglets from LPR (Pig) Units of this Institute.
