A branch, founded in 1912, of an Enghsh society, "Our Dumb Friends' League'', for the luccor of horses and dogt. It was active in the Balkan Wan (1912-13) and in the World War. (b). A Society (American Blue Cross Society) formed in the United States in 1914 to further the humane treatment of animals."
