摘要

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is considering abandoning its legal fight against the Mexican truck pilot program, which would next go to the U.S. Supreme Court, and is instead seeking to generate more congressional oversight of the program, including through a congressional hearing, a labor source told Inside U.S. Trade. He said the Teamsters will most likely not pursue a ruling by the Supreme Court because such cases are extremely costly and the odds of the court hearing this case are extremely slim given that the Supreme Court rarely takes on trade-related cases and due to the thorough rejection of the case in the U.S. Court of Appeals. The Teamsters have until Oct. 26 to make a final decision on whether to proceed to the Supreme Court, which is 90 days after the U.S. Court of Appeals rejected on July 26 their request for a rehearing.
