EU, U.S. Face Off On Services, Government Procurement Ahead Of 13th Round

Negotiators heading into next week's round of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership talks face two major market access obstacles in government procurement and services that are unlikely to be resolved in the near term. Ahead of the round, the European Union has laid out improvements it must see from the U.S. on its government procurement offer before negotiations can enter the final stage. The EU wants access to procurement of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and rail transportation, including Amtrak, as a way of improving the coverage of federal entities.
