White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett on Dec. 18 predicted that President Obama would ultimately be successful in his quest to have Congress approve new fast-track authority also known as Trade Promotion Authority (TPA). "We think we will get it," she said. "We've had an enormous amount of outreach to the Hill on all of the agreements, and we are very encouraged by it." Her comment is an apparent reference to TPA, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
