We thank Keenan et al. for their interest in our recent article (1) and for making the effort to express their concerns, namely that 1) our conclusions on the effects of resistant starch (RS) are misleading, 2) our controls were inappropriately formulated, 3) our study lacked statistical power, and 4) that there were anomalies in the in vitro methodology.
