(H_2NCH_2NH_2)_(0.5)MnSeO_3 displays a hybrid structure in which the ethylenediamine acts as a pillar,linking inorganic sheets built up from edge and vertex-sharing MnO_5N octahedra and SeO_3 pyramids.The high-spin Mn~(2+) cations order antiferromagnetically at 18 K.
