Daewoo's first new generation vehicle has rolled off its production line at the recently privatised FSO factory in Warsaw, Poland. The launch of the Lanos model, followed shortly by the Nubira and Leganza, will take Daewoo's Polish output to 170,000 cars this year, compared with 95,000 in 1996. The company expects the factory to be building 570,000 vehicles a year by 2000, making Poland Daewoo's biggest foreign manufacturing base.
