Shims provide formed parts for helicopter transmissions

A combined compression and extension machined spring has replaced a wire wound spring in a demanding aerospace task. German supplier Georg Martin is one of the leading manufacturers of peelable and solid shims for the European aviation industry. In an assessment by customer Airbus, the company achieved an Industrial Process Control Assessment (IPCA) audit result of 95%. Martin is now presenting their first formed sheet metal parts for the construction of helicopter transmissions.
