WITH INDIVIDUALLY CONTROLLED AND POWERED WHEELS THAT TURN 360° FOR GREATER MANOEUVRABILITY, THE LIFT-TRUCK RULEBOOK IS BEING REWRITTEN BY A SWEDISH INVENTOR. Like a shopping trolley moving down the aisles of a supermarket, the newly invented Maxtruck can turn its vehicle body in any direction, regardless of the direction of travel. It can move in tight spaces and reach where other trucks cannot, with a telehandler-style boom replacing the traditional mast and lifting chain. The secret lies in the design of its wheels, patented along with a host of other innovations.
