The Government's newly published manufacturing strategy sets out a clear long term plan for how high value industry can contribute to a modern, balanced economy. The Government has revealed its new strategy for the UK's manufacturing sector, which aims to provide UK firms with the assistance and advice they need to take advantage of the changing global trends in manufacturing. The strategy is set to bring nearly ￡150m of medium support for UK manufacturing, and relays the Government's view of what the sector needs for success in the long term. These include: developing low carbon technology; supporting and promoting skills; realising overseas opportunities; improving technology networks; changing the UK perception of the manufacturing sector; and making the most of intangibles.
