Argex Mining Inc., a Canada-based junior explorer, is developing a titanium dioxide (TiO_2) pigment feedstock project at its La Blache deposit, located about 120km from the port of Baie Comeau in Quebec. The junior explorer plans to bring forward production of ilmenite to Q2 2012 from 2013 at La Blache, where the company is looking to establish a mine and a 600,000 tpa processing plant. Argex CEO, Michael Dehn, revealed to IM that initial production should be close to 30-50,000 tonnes high purity TiO_2 concentrate in 2012 ramping up quickly to 600,000 tonnes of TiO_2 by the end of 2015.
